Frequently Asked Questions

Jasper Transfers FAQ

Got a question before you hit print? Jasper has answers. Below you'll find the most common things sellers ask us about turnaround, shipping, artwork, sizing, application, and care. If you don't see what you're looking for, our team is one email away at support@jaspertransfers.com — we're happy to help.

A quick heads-up: every Jasper transfer is custom-printed to order from your artwork. That made-to-order nature shapes a few of our policies below, so it's worth a read before you check out.

Orders & Turnaround

How fast do you make my transfers?

Most orders are printed and shipped within 1–3 business days of when your artwork is finalized. We print in the United States, so your gang sheets and ready-to-press transfers don't sit waiting on an overseas queue. During major holiday rushes turnaround can stretch slightly — we'll post a notice on the site if that ever happens.

When does the clock start?

Production time begins once your order is placed and your files pass our automated check. If a file needs attention (low resolution, missing transparency, wrong color mode), we'll flag it — and that pause is the most common reason an order ships a day later than expected. Clean files keep things fast.

Is there a minimum order?

No minimums, ever. Order a single gang sheet or a few hundred — Jasper is built for small shops, Etsy sellers, and print-on-demand makers who need exactly what they need, when they need it.

Can I change or cancel an order after placing it?

Because your transfers are made to order, we can only change or cancel before production starts. Reach out right away at support@jaspertransfers.com and we'll do our best to catch it. Once your sheet is on the printer, it can't be unwound.

Shipping

How long does shipping take?

After your 1–3 business day production window, transfers ship via a trackable US carrier. Typical transit is a few business days depending on how far you are from our facility. Add production plus transit together to estimate your in-hand date.

Do you ship internationally?

Our focus is fast, reliable US shipping. If you're outside the US, email us before ordering and we'll let you know your current options and any duties or delays to expect.

Will I get tracking?

Yes. A tracking number is emailed automatically when your order ships, so you can follow it to your door.

My package is delayed or lost — what now?

Once a carrier scans your package, transit time is largely in their hands, but you're never on your own. If tracking stalls or something looks wrong, contact us and we'll open an investigation with the carrier and make it right.

Artwork & File Specs

What file format should I upload?

Send us a PNG with a transparent background — that's the gold standard for DTF. Transparency tells our printer exactly where ink and adhesive should and shouldn't go, so your design ends up with crisp, clean edges instead of a printed box around it.

What resolution do you recommend?

Build your art at 300 DPI at the actual size you want it printed. A design that looks sharp on screen can turn soft and pixelated once it's blown up onto a sheet, so design at full scale rather than enlarging a small file. RGB color mode is fine — we handle the conversion for you.

Can you fix or design artwork for me?

We print your files as supplied and don't redraw or recreate artwork. We're glad to point out an obvious problem we spot, but for best results, prep your design before uploading. What you send is what presses.

Why does transparency matter so much?

On a DTF transfer, anything that isn't transparent gets printed — including a white background you didn't mean to keep. Flatten your art onto transparency and only the shape you want will transfer to the garment. This single step prevents the most common "why is there a box around my logo?" surprise.

Sizing & Gang Sheets

What's a gang sheet?

A gang sheet is one large transfer sheet packed with multiple designs — or many copies of one design — so you maximize every square inch. Arrange your art, and you can trim individual pieces apart as you press them. It's the most economical way to buy DTF.

How do I know what size to order?

Measure the print area on your blank — the front of a tee, a left-chest logo spot, a tote panel — and size your design to fit that space with a little breathing room. When in doubt, a left-chest logo runs roughly 3–4 inches wide and a standard adult front print runs about 10–12 inches wide. Always confirm against your actual garment.

Will my colors print exactly as they look on my monitor?

We aim for vibrant, faithful color, but every screen is calibrated differently, so a small shift between monitor and final print is normal and isn't considered a defect. If precise color matching is critical for a brand, we recommend ordering a small test first.

Application & Pressing

How do I apply a DTF transfer?

You'll need a heat press for consistent results. As a general starting point: press around 300–315°F for 10–15 seconds with firm, even medium pressure, peel the carrier film, then do a quick second press with a cover sheet to lock everything in. Your exact temperature, time, and peel (hot vs. cold) can vary by press and fabric, so always test on a scrap first.

Can I use a household iron?

A heat press is strongly recommended. Home irons don't deliver the even heat and steady pressure DTF needs, and uneven application is the leading cause of edges lifting or color looking dull. If a press isn't an option, test carefully and expect less consistent results.

What fabrics work with Jasper transfers?

Our DTF transfers are wonderfully versatile — cotton, polyester, blends, canvas, and more all play nicely. That flexibility is a big part of why DTF has taken over from older transfer methods. As always, test an unfamiliar material before running a full batch.

Washing & Durability

How long will a transfer last?

Pressed correctly, Jasper transfers are built to outlast 50+ wash cycles while staying vibrant and flexible. Our stretchable inks and strong hot-melt adhesive are made for garments that get worn, washed, and worn again.

How should the finished garment be washed?

For the longest life, wait 24 hours after pressing before the first wash, then machine wash cold inside-out on a gentle cycle and either hang dry or tumble dry low. Skip bleach, harsh detergents, and ironing directly on the design. Pass these tips along to your customers and the print will reward them.

The print cracked or peeled — what happened?

Almost every durability issue traces back to application: not enough heat, too little pressure, or skipping the second press. Dial in your press settings on a test piece and you'll see a dramatic difference. If you've followed proper settings and still hit a problem, reach out — see the Refunds section below.

UV-DTF vs. DTF

What's the difference between DTF and UV-DTF?

DTF (direct-to-film) transfers are heat-pressed onto fabric — tees, hoodies, totes, and other soft goods. UV-DTF transfers are made for hard surfaces like tumblers, mugs, glass, metal, and plastic. UV-DTF uses no heat press at all: you peel, apply, and rub the design onto the item like a premium sticker that's far tougher than vinyl.

Which one do I need?

Ask what you're decorating. If it's worn or washed as a garment, choose DTF. If it's a cup, bottle, sign, or any rigid item, choose UV-DTF. When you're decorating both, many sellers keep both on hand.

Does UV-DTF hold up?

Yes — applied cleanly to a smooth, prepped surface, UV-DTF transfers are durable and water-resistant. They're best for hand washing rather than the dishwasher, which keeps the finish looking sharp for the long haul.

Refunds & Issues

What's your return policy?

Because every transfer is custom-printed to order from your artwork, we generally can't accept returns or offer refunds for buyer's remorse, sizing or color choices, or files supplied incorrectly. This is standard for made-to-order custom print products. Please double-check your art and order details before you check out.

What if my order arrives defective or wrong?

That's exactly what we want to make right. If your transfers arrive with a genuine manufacturing defect, or you received the wrong item, contact us at support@jaspertransfers.com within 7 days of delivery with your order number and clear photos. We'll review it promptly and arrange a reprint or refund where a production error is on us.

Does the warranty cover application mistakes?

Our guarantee covers defects in the transfer as we ship it. It can't cover issues caused by pressing — incorrect heat or pressure, skipping the post-press, or applying to an untested fabric. When in doubt, test on a scrap first; it's the cheapest insurance there is.
